Chapter XVII

OF OFFENCES AGAINST PROPERTY

Of Mischief

Mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage to amount of one hundred or (in case of agricultural produce) ten taka

435. Whoever commits mischief by fire or any explosive substance, intending to cause, or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby cause, damage to any property to the amount of one hundred taka or upwards or (where the property is agricultural produce) ten taka or upwards, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years and shall also be liable to fine.

    Throughout this Act, except otherwise provided, the words “Bangladesh”, “Government”, “the Government” and “Taka” were substituted, for the words “Pakistan”, “Central or any Provincial Government” or “Central Government or any Provincial Government” or “Central Government” or “the Provincial Government” or “Provincial Government” and “rupees” respectively by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973).
