1The Police Act, 1861

( ACT NO. V OF 1861 )

Additional Inspector-General of Police, etc.
2[4A. (1) The Government may, whenever necessary appoint an Additional Inspector-General of Police.
 
 
(2) The Additional Inspector-General of Police so appointed shall discharge any of the functions of the Inspector-General of Police which the Inspector-General of Police may assign to him, and in the discharge of those functions, he shall exercise the same powers as the Inspector-General of Police.]

    Throughout this Act, except otherwise provided, the words “Government” and “Taka” were substituted, for the words “Provincial Government” and “rupees” respectively by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973).
