WHEREAS it is expedient to apply the Petroleum Act, 1934, to the Chittagong Hill-tracts;

    AND WHEREAS by clause (3) of Article 103 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the ¹[Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in which is for the time being and excluded area;

    NOW, THEREFORE, the ²[Government] in exercise of the said power and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-
