The Petroleum Act, 1934

♣An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to the import transport, storage, production, 1[ [refining, blending or reclaiming by recycling], distribution and marketing] of petroleum and other inflammable substances.

 
WHEREAS it is expedient to consolidate and amend the law relating to the import, transport, storage, production, [ [refining, blending or reclaiming by recycling], distribution and marketing] of petroleum and other inflammable substances;
 
 
It is hereby enacted as follows:-
 
 
 

Short title, extent and commencement
1. (1) This Act may be called the Petroleum Act, 1934.
 
 
(2) It extends to the whole of Bangladesh.
 
 
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint.

    The words and comma "refining, blending or reclaiming by recycling" were substituted, for the words and comma "refining, blending" by section 2 of the Petroleum (Amendment) Ordinance, 1986 (Ordinance No. XXXIX of 1986).
