Chapter I

CONTROL OVER PETROLEUM

Production, refining and blending of petroleum
5. (1) No one shall produce, 1[refine, blend or reclaim by recycling] petroleum save in accordance with the rules made under sub-section (2).
 
 
(2) The Government may make rules-
 
 
(a) prescribing the conditions subject to which petroleum may be produced, 2[refined, blended or reclaimed by recycling] and
 
 
(b) regulating the removal of petroleum from places where it is produced 3[refined, blended or reclaimed by recycling] and preventing the storage therein and removal therefrom, except as 4[class I] petroleum of any petroleum which has not satisfied the prescribed tests.
