THE TESTING OF PETROLEUM

Inspection and sampling of petroleum
14.(1) The Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, authorize any officer by name or by virtue of office to enter any place where petroleum is being imported, transported, 1[stored, distributed], produced, 2[refined, blended or reclaimed by recycling] and to inspect and take samples for testing of any petroleum found therein.
 
 
(2) The Government may make rules-
 
 
(a) regulating the taking of samples of petroleum for testing,
 
 
(b) determining the cases in which payment shall be made for the value of samples taken, and the mode of payment, and
 
 
(c) generally, regulating the procedure of officers exercising powers under this section.

    The words and comma "stored, distributed" were substituted, for the words "stored" by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973).

    The words and comma "refined, blended or reclaimed by recycling" were substituted, for the words "refined or blended" by section 12 of the Petroleum (Amendment) Ordinance, 1986 (Ordinance No. XXXIX of 1986).
