(1) After the Compensation Assessment-roll or Compensation Assessment-rolls in respect of all estates, tenures, and interest of rent-receivers in holdings or tenancies comprised within a district, part of a district or local area, in respect of which a record-of-rights has been prepared or revised and finally published under Chapter IV, has or have been published, such record-of-rights shall be modified by eliminating therefrom the entire chain of interests of rent-receivers and showing therein only the tenant who will come directly under the Government as a result of the acquisition of such interests; and one or more numbers to be borne on the Revenue-roll of the district shall be assigned by the Collector in respect of the areas to which such record-of-rights relates in accordance with such rules as the Government may make in this behalf; and the record-of-rights so modified shall be reprinted. (2) Copies of the record-of-rights so reprinted shall be distributed free of cost to the tenants of the areas to which such record-of-rights relates in such manner as may be prescribed.
