29. (1) At least seven days before entering into any contract for the execution of any work or the supply of any materials or goods which will involve an expenditure not exceeding ten thousand taka, or at least fourteen days before entering into such contract involving an expenditure exceeding ten thousand taka, the Chairman shall give notice, by advertisement in local newspapers, inviting tenders for the same. (2) In every case in which the acceptance of a tender would involve an expenditure exceeding five lakhs of taka, the Chairman shall submit to the Kartripakkha the specifications, conditions and estimates, and all tenders received, specifying particular tender (if any) the acceptance of which he recommends. (3) The Kartripakkha shall not be bound to sanction the acceptance of any tender which has been made; but it may sanction the acceptance of any such tender which appears to them, in consideration of all circumstances, to be the most advantageous, or may direct the rejection of all the tenders submitted to them.
