INSURANCE BY WIVES AND HUSBANDS

Married woman may effect policy of insurance
5. Any married woman may effect a policy of insurance on her own behalf and independently of her husband; and the same and all benefit thereof, if expressed on the face of it to be so effected, shall ensure as her separate property, and the contract evidenced by such policy shall be as valid as if made with an unmarried woman.

    Throughout this Act, except otherwise provided, the words "Government" and "Bangladesh" were substituted, for the words "Provincial Government" and "Pakistan" or "the Province" or "any Province" respectively by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973).
