(1) The Government shall, by notification in the official Gazette, constitute a Mines Labour Housing Board to prepare and carry out ¹[* * *] schemes financed from the housing account of the Fund for the provision of suitable housing accommodation for labour employed in mining industry, and to carry out other functions of the Housing Board under this Act. (2) The Commissioner shall be the Chairman of the Housing Board, and the other members thereof shall be appointed by the Government and shall be of such number and chosen in such manner as may be prescribed. (3) The Housing Board shall be a body corporate by the name of the Mines Labour Housing Board, having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power to acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, and shall by the said name sue and be sued. (4) No act done by the Housing Board shall be called in question on the ground merely of the existence of any vacancy in, or defect in the constitution of, the Housing Board.
