On receipt of a reference under section 17 the Court shall proceed, as far as may be practicable, in accordance with sections 20 to 22 and 25 to 28 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894: Provided that, instead of sub-section (3) of section 25 of the said Act, the following shall be read:- “The provisions of this section and of section 11 of the ¹[* * *] Irrigation Act, 1876, shall be read to every assessor in a language which he understands, before he gives his opinion as to the amount of compensation to be awarded”.
