A village-channel made as an extension of, or a branch to, an existing village-channel shall be registered as a separate village-channel; and so much of the length of any village-channel as lies within the limits of any one village or mauza shall be entered on the register as a separate village-channel. Every section of a village-channel so separately entered on the register shall be deemed to be a separate village-channel in respect of all rights and liabilities imposed by this Act:
