Chapter XI

WAREHOUSING

Power to remit duties on warehoused goods lost or destroyed
115. If any warehoused goods, in respect of which a bond has been executed under section 86 and which have not been cleared for home-consumption are lost or destroyed by unavoidable accident or cause, the 1[Commissioner of Customs (Bond) or any other Commissioner of Customs authorised by the Board] may in his discretion remit the duties due thereon:
 
 
Provided that, if any such goods be so lost or destroyed in a private warehouse, 2[notice thereof in writing shall] be given to the appropriate officer 3[within 4[three] working days] after the discovery of such loss or destruction.
