LICENSES

Restriction on movement with arms

1[17A.(1) The Government may, if it considers it expedient in the public interest so to do, by order, to be notified in the official Gazette, impose restrictions on the movement of any person with his licensed arms for such period as may be specified in the notification.

 
 
 
 

(2) Any person going armed in contravention of an order made under sub-section (1) shall be disarmed by any Magistrate, Police–officers or other person empowered by the Government in this behalf by name or by virtue of his office and his license may be cancelled or suspended under section18 during the period of national as well as local government elections.

 
 

Explanation - Election period means the period from the date of submission of nomination papers until the date of declaration of the result in the official Gazette.]
