2. In this Order, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,-
(a) “Bangladesh Insurance Corporation” means the Bangladesh Insurance Corporation established by the Bangladesh Insurance Corporation Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 18 of 1972);
(b) “Corporation” means the Teesta Bima Corporation established by the
Bangladesh Insurance (Nationalisation) Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 95 of 1972);
(c) “Government” means the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh;
(d) “Insurer” means an insurer as defined in the
Insurance Act, 1938 (Act IV of 1938), who carries on Insurance business in Bangladesh and includes a provident Society as defined in section 65 of that Act;
(e) “Pakistan Insurance Corporation” means the Pakistan Insurance Corporation established by the Pakistan Insurance Corporation Act, 1952 (Act XXXVIII of 1952); and
(f) “subsidiary Corporation” means the Karnaphuli Bima Corporation, the Teesta Bima Corporation, the Surma Jiban Bima Corporation or the Rupsa Jiban Bima Corporation established by Article 4 of the
Bangladesh Insurance (Nationalisation) Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 95 of 1972).
