  Preamble
 
WHEREAS it is expedient to define and amend the law relating to private trusts and trustees; It is hereby enacted as follows:-
 

Chapter I

PRELIMINARY

Short title Commencemen
1. This Act may be called the Trusts Act, 1882: and it shall come into force on the first day of March, 1882.

    Throughout this Act, except otherwise provided, the words “Bangladesh”, “Government” and “Taka” or “Tk.” were substituted, for the words “Pakistan”, “Central Government” or “Provincial Government” and “rupees” or “Rs.” respectively by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973)
