(1) Where any property or other assets stand transferred to, and vested in, the Government under this Act-(a) every person who has in his possession, custody or control any such property or assets shall be liable to account for such property or assets and shall deliver the same to the Government or an officer authorised by it in this behalf;(b) every person who has in his possession, custody or control any books, documents or other papers relating to ESSO undertakings shall be liable to account for such books, documents and papers to the Government and shall deliver them up to the Government or the officer authorised by it in this behalf. (2) Without prejudice to the provision of such sub-section (1), the Government may take all such steps as may be necessary to take possession or assume control of the properties, assets, books, documents and other papers referred to in that sub-section.
