The Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Ordinance, 1976

Establishment and incorporation
 
3. (1) As soon as may be after the coming into force of this Ordinance, the Government shall establish, by notification in the official Gazette, a Corporation to be called the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh for the purposes of this Ordinance.
 
 
(2) The Corporation shall be a body corporate by the name of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh, having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power, subject to the provisions of this Ordinance, to acquire, hold and dispose of any property and shall, by the said name, sue and be sued.
 
(3) The Corporation shall be deemed to be a banking company within the meaning of 1[ ব্যাংক কোম্পানী আইন, ১৯৯১ (১৯৯১ সনের ১৪ নং আইন)].

    The words, comma, figures and brackets আইন, ১৯৯১ (১৯৯১ সনের ১৪ নং আইন)চ্ were substituted for the words, comma, figures and brackets “the Banking Companies Ordinance, 1962 (LVII of 1962)” by section 3 of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (Amendment) Act, 2000 (Act No. XXIV of 2000)
