The Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Ordinance, 1976

Meeting of the Board
8. (1) The meetings of the Board shall be convened by the Secretary of the Board, in consultation with the Chairman, at least once in every quarter of a year but may also be convened as frequently as may be necessary.
 
 
 
 
(2) At least fourteen days' notice shall be given for convening a meeting of the Board and such notice shall specify the date on which, and the time and place at which, the meeting shall be held, but emergency meetings may be convened on twenty-four hours' notice.
 
 
 
 
(3) The Chairman, and in his absence, 1[a member elected for the purpose by the members present], shall preside over the meetings.
 
 
 
 
(4) Three members shall constitute a quorum at a meeting of the Board.
 
 
 
 
(5) All matters at a meeting shall be decided by the votes of the majority of the members present and voting.
 
 
 
 
(6) At a meeting of the Board each member shall have one vote, and in the event of equality of votes, the Chairman 2[or the member presiding over the meeting] shall have a second or casting vote.
 
 
 
 
(7) No act or proceeding of the Board shall be invalid merely on the ground of existence of any vacancy in, or any defect in the constitution of, the Board.
