In this Act, unless there be something repugnant in the subject or context,- “Commissioner” means the Commissioner of a Division: “ferry” includes a bridge of boats, pontoons or rafts, a swing-bridge, a flying bridge, a temporary bridge, and a landing stage:“notification” means a notification published in the official Gazette. “private ferries” includes all ferries other than those declared to be public ferries, or established as such, under section 6 of this Act.
