(1) The Government may, in any municipality where there is no improvement trust constituted under any law, by notification in the official Gazette, entrust to the Paurashava any function relating to town improvement. (2) Where any function is entrusted to a Paurashava under sub-section (1), the Government may, in the prescribed manner, appoint a Municipal Improvement Sub-Committee, which shall exercise such powers and perform such functions with regard to town improvement as may be prescribed.
