64. (1) A Paurashava may, by notice, require the owner or occupier of any building or land which is in an insanitary or unwholesome state- (a) to clean or otherwise put it in a proper state; (b) to make arrangements to the satisfaction of the Paurashava for its proper sanitation; (c) to lime wash the building and to make such essential repairs as may be specified in the notice; and (d) to take such other steps in regard to such building or land as may be so specified. (2) If any requirement of a notice issued under sub-section (1) is not complied with within such period as may be specified in the notice, the Paurashava may cause the necessary steps to be taken at the expense of the owner or occupier, and the cost so incurred by the Paurashava shall be deemed to be a tax levied on the owner or occupier under this Ordinance.
