2. In this Ordinance, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,-(a) “Board” means the Rural Electrification Board established under section 3;(b) “Chairman” means the Chairman of the Board;(c) “member” means a member of the Board and includes the Chairman;(d) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Ordinance; ¹[(e) “rural area” means an area which is not included within a municipality and includes such a municipality or an area within a municipality as the Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, specify in this behalf;](f) “Samity” means a Palli Bidyut Samity formed under this Ordinance and registered with the Board.
