(1) Subject to the provisions of section 11, when the office of a member becomes vacant by resignation, death or otherwise, another person shall be nominated or appointed in his place in the manner provided in the appropriate clause of section 4 and such person shall hold office so long as the member whose place he fills would have been entitled to hold office if such vacancy had not occurred.(2) Notwithstanding the expiration of the term of three years specified in sub-section (1) of section 6, a member shall continue to hold office until the vacancy caused by the expiration of the said term has been filled in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance.
