3. (1) On the commencement of this Ordinance, there shall be constituted an Academy to be called the Bangla Academy for carrying out the purposes of this Ordinance. (2) The Academy shall be a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power, subject to the provisions of this Ordinance, to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, and shall by the said name sue and be sued. (3) The headquarters of the Academy shall be at Dacca.
