1. (1) This Act may be called the 1[* * *] Civil Courts Act.
(2) It extends to Bangladesh except such portions 2[thereof] as for the time being are not subject to the ordinary civil jurisdiction of the High Court Division 3[* * *]; and
(3) It shall come into force on the first day of July, 1887.
[Repealed]
2. (1) 4[Repealed by the Amendment Act, 1891 (Act No. XII of 1891)].
(3) Any enactment or document referring to the Bengal Civil Courts Act, 1871, [or East Bengal Civil Court Act] or to any enactment thereby repealed, shall be construed to refer to this Act or to the corresponding portion thereof.
