30. (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any other law for the time being in force, no one, other than a registered medical practitioner or a registered dentist, shall practise, or hold himself out as practising, the allopathy system of medicine or dentistry. (2) Whoever, after the date fixed by notification in the official Gazette by the Council in this behalf, contravenes the provision of sub section (1) shall be punishable with fine which may extend to Taka five thousand, or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with both.
