Whoever obstructs the authorised person in the exercise of his powers or discharge of his functions as authorised person, or with intent to prevent or deter the authorised person from exercising his powers or discharging his functions, or in consequence of any thing done or attempted to be done by the authorised person in the lawful exercise of his powers or discharge of his functions as such, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to ¹[two years, or with fine which may extend to fifteen thousand Taka, or with both, and, for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and also with fine].
