42. Whoever exports or imports any weight or measure without being registered under this Ordinance shall be punished with fine which may extend to 1[five thousand Taka], and, for the second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months and also with fine.

The words “five thousand Taka” were substituted for the words “one thousand Taka” by section 13 of the Standards of Weights and Measures (Amendment) Act, 2001 (Act No. VI of 2001).
