301. The Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make rules in respect of ships for which a Passenger Ship Safety Certificate is required by Part V to regulate all or any of the following matters, namely:-(a) the closing and keeping closed of openings in ships' hulls and in water tight bulkheads;(b) the securing, keeping in place and inspecting contrivances for closing any such openings as aforesaid;(c) the operation of mechanisms of contrivances for closing any such openings as aforesaid and drills in connection with the operation thereof;(d) the exhibition of plans and other information relating to the boundaries of water tight compartments, the openings therein, the means of closing such openings and the arrangements for correcting any list due to flooding; and(e) the entries to be made in the official log book or other record to be kept of any of the matters aforesaid.
