(1) If an official log book is not kept in the manner required by this Ordinance, or if an entry required by this Ordinance to be made therein is not made at the time and in the manner required the master shall, if no other penalty is provided by this Ordinance, for each offence, be punishable with fine which may extend to five thousand Taka. (2) If any person makes or procures to be made or assists in making any entry in any official log book in respect of any occurrence happening previously to the arrival of the ship at her final port of discharge more than twenty four hours after such arrival, he shall, for each offence, be punishable with fine which may extend to five thousand Taka. (3) If any person wilfully destroys or mutilates or renders illegible any entry in any official log book, or wilfully makes or procures to be made or assists in making a false or fraudulent entry in or omission from an official log book, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to five thousand Taka.
