(1) The Board shall consist of the following members, namely:- (a) a Chairman to be appointed by the Government; (b) two members to be nominated by the Government, of whom one each shall be from amongst the practising Hakims and Vaids; (c) one member from each administrative division to be elected by the registered practitioners of Unani system of medicine from amongst themselves; (d) one member from each administrative division to be elected by the registered practitioners of the Ayurvedic system of medicine from amongst themselves; (e) two members to be nominated by the Government from amongst the teachers of recognised teaching institutions of Unani and Ayurvedic systems of medicine. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub section (1), for the purpose of constitution the Board for the first time, the members required to be elected under clauses (c) and (d) of that sub section, shall be nominated by the Government.
