4. (1) As soon as may be after the commencement of this Ordinance, there shall be constituted, in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance, a Union Parishad for a union. (2) A Union Parishad shall be known by such local name as the Deputy Commissioner may assign. (3) Every Union Parishad shall be a body corporate, having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power, subject to the provisions of this Ordinance and the rules, to acquire and hold property both movable and immovable, and shall by its name sue and be sued.
