The Local Government (Union Parishads) Ordinance, 1983

Power to make regulations
84. A Union Parishad may make regulations to provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:-
 
 
 
 
(a) conduct of business of the Union Parishad;
 
 
 
 
(b) prescription of quorum;
 
 
 
 
(c) asking of questions;
 
 
 
 
(d) requisitioning of meetings;
 
 
 
 
(e) recording of minutes;
 
 
 
 
(f) execution of resolutions;
 
 
 
 
1[(g) matters relating to Standing Committees and conduct of their business;]
 
 
 
 
(h) custody and use of the common seal;
 
 
(i) delegation of powers of the Chairman to any member or officer or employee of the Union Parishad;
 
 
 
 
(j) organisation of the office of the Union Parishad into departments and branches and definition of the duties of such departments and branches;
 
 
 
 
(k) registration of births and deaths;
 
 
 
 
(l) registration of the sale of cattle and animals;
 
 
 
 
(m) regulation and management of common property;
 
 
 
 
(n) regulation of burning and burial grounds;
 
 
 
 
(o) prevention and control of infectious diseases;
 
 
 
 
(p) prevention of encroachments;
 
 
 
 
(q) management and regulation of cattle pounds;
 
 
 
 
(r) any other matter of procedural nature or required under any of the provisions of this Ordinance to be determined by regulations.
