The Family Courts Ordinance, 1985

Family Court deemed to be a District Court for purposes of Act VIII of 1890
24. (1) A Family Court shall be deemed to be a District Court for the purposes of the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 (VIII of 1890), and notwithstanding anything contained in this Ordinance, shall, in dealing with matters specified in that Act, follow the procedure specified in that Act.
 
 
 
 
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 (VIII of 1890), an appeal from an order made by a Family Court as District Court under that Act shall lie to the Court of District Judge, and the provisions of section 17 shall apply to such appeal.
