The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Ordinance, 1985

Penalty for improper use of Standard Mark, etc.
30. (1) Any person who contravenes the provisions of section 19 or section 21 or section 22 shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 1[two years, or with fine which may extend to fifty thousand Taka but shall not be less than seven thousand Taka], or with both.
 
 
(2) A Court convicting a person under sub-section (1) may direct that any property in respect of which the contravention has taken place shall be forfeited to the Government.

    The words and comma “two years, or with fine which may extend to fifty thousand Taka but shall not be less than seven thousand Taka” were substituted for the words and comma “six months, or with fine which may extend to fifteen thousand taka” by section 8 of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutes (Amendment) Act, 2003 (Act No. XXVII of 2003).
