Penalty for other offences
32. Whoever contravenes any of the provisions of this Ordinance or of any regulation made or notification issued thereunder shall, if no other penalty is elsewhere provided by or under this Ordinance for such contravention, be punishable with fine 1[which may extend to fifty thousand taka but shall not be less than seven thousand taka].

    The words “which may extend to fifty thousand taka but shall not be less than seven thousand taka” were substituted for the words “which may extend to five thousand taka” by section 11 of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institutes (Amendment) Act, 2003 (Act No. XXVII of 2003).
