1♣An Act to amend the law relating to the supply and use of electrical energy.

 
WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the law relating to the supply and use of electrical energy; It is hereby enacted as follows:-
 
 
 

Part I

PRELIMINARY

Short title, extent and commencement
1. (1) This Act may be called the Electricity Act, 1910.
 
 
(2) It extends to the whole of Bangladesh.
 
 
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, direct in this behalf.

    Throughout this Act, except otherwise provided, the words “Bangladesh”, “Government” and “Taka” were substituted, for the words “Pakistan”, “Central Government” or “Provincial Government” or "Central Government or the Provincial Government" or “Central Government or any Provincial Government” and “rupees” respectively by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973).
