Cognizance of offences
18. No Court inferior to that of a Magistrate of the first class or Subdivisional Magistrate shall try any offence against this Act or any rule, bye-law or order made thereunder, which-
(a) is alleged to have been committed by any owner, agent or manager of a mine, or
(b) is punishable with imprisonment.
