A Regulation to apply certain enactments to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
WHEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts certain enactments specified in the Schedule;
AND WHEREAS by sub-section (2) of section 92 of the Government of India Act, 1935, the 1[Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of any area in his Province which is for the time being an excluded, or a partially area;
NOW, THEREFORE, the 2[Government], in exercise of the said powers and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-
1. This Regulation may be called the Chittagong Hill- tracts (Laws) Regulation, 1952.
2. The enactment specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall, subject to the amendments mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts and shall be deemed to have applied to the said tracts with effect from the 21st June, 1949.
3. The Chittagong Hill-tracts (Laws) Regulation, 1949, is hereby repealed.
