THE CHITTAGONG HILL-TRACTS (INDUSTRIAL LAWS) REGULATION, 1956

(EAST PAKISTAN REGULATION NO. II OF 1956)

A regulation to apply certain laws relating to cotton ginning and pressing factories, industrial statistics and employment in industries to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.

WHEREAS it is expedient to apply to the Chittagong Hill- tracts certain enactments relating to cotton ginning and cotton pressing factories, collection of industrial statistics and employment in industrial establishments;

AND WHEREAS by clause (3) of Article 103 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the 1[Government] is empowered to make regulations for the peace and good Government of the excluded area;

NOW, Therefore, the  2[Government] in exercise of the said power and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, is pleased to make the following Regulation, namely:-

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Regulation may be called the Chittagong Hill- tracts (Industrial Laws) Regulation, 1956.

    (2) It shall come into force at once.

Application of certain Acts to the Chittagong Hill- tracts

2. The enactments specified in the Schedule below shall, subject to modification mentioned in the fourth column thereof, apply to the Chittagong Hill-tracts.
