The Suppression of Immoral Traffic Act, 1933

( ACT NO. VI OF 1933 )

Punishment of importing a female for prostitution
10.(1) Any person who brings or attempts to bring or causes to be brought into any place in which this Act is inforce any female with a view to her earning hire, or being brought up to earn hire as a prostitute, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine which may extend to one thousand Taka, or with both, and, if a male person, shall also be liable to whipping.
 
 
(2) An offence under this section may be tried in any place which the female is brought or caused to be brought, or in which an attempt to bring her is made, or in any place from which she is brought or caused to be brought, or from which an attempt to bring her is made.
