The Tanks Improvement Act, 1939 (Bengal Act).

Rights to use the water of the tank
1[16. During the period of possession all rights to use the water of the tank for irrigation purposes shall vest in the authorised person and no person shall use the water of the tank for such purposes except with the permission of the authorised person.
