(1) The provisions of Chapter III of the ¹[* * *] State Acquisition and Tenancy Act, 1950, shall, so far as may be, apply to the lands held by service tenants in respect of which suits and proceedings are barred under section 3. (2) For the purpose of sub-section (1), the expression “within six months from the date of commencement of this Act”, occurring in sub-section (1) of section 12 of the said Act, shall be deemed to have been substituted by the expression “within three months from the date of commencement of the ²[* * *] Service Tenants (Protection) Act, 1952”.
