Chapter VI

OFFENCES, PENALTY AND PROCEDURE

85. A Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, Presiding Officer, Assistant Presiding Officer or any other person employed by any such officer in connection with his official duties imposed by or under this Order is guilty of an offence punishable 1[with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to Taka five thousand, or with both], if he, wilfully and without reasonable cause, commits breach of any such official duty, by act or omission.

    The words and commas “with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to Taka five thousand, or with both” were substituted for the words “with fine which may extend to Taka five hundred” by section 16 of the Representation of the People (Amendment) Act, 1991 (Act No. X of 1991)
