POWERS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE AUTHORITY
Right of the Authority to maintain pilots
16. (1) The Authority shall have the right of maintaining pilots for the navigation of vessels at the Port and shall be bound to provide a sufficient number of pilots for that purpose, and all fees for pilotage shall be paid to the Authority:
Provided that no person shall be appointed to be a pilot by the Authority who is not for the time being authorised under the provisions of the
Ports Act, 1908 (XV of 1908), to pilot vessels.
