(1) At any time, the Council may enter into negotiations with the appropriate authority in any State or country outside Bangladesh for the settling of a scheme of reciprocity for the recognition of medical qualifications, and in pursuance of any such scheme, the Council may, by notification in the official Gazette, amend the Second Schedule so as to include therein any medical qualifications which the Council has decided to recognise. (2) The Government, after consulting the Council, may, if it thinks fit, by notification in the official Gazette, amend the Second Schedule so as to include therein, or omit therefrom, any medical qualification granted by a medical institution in any State or country outside Bangladesh on and from a specified date, notwithstanding the fact that a reciprocal scheme of recognition has or has not been entered into between the Council and such authority in that State or country as is referred to in sub section (1).
