CHAPTER X
PUBLIC NUISANCES
 
  Magistrate may prohibit repetition or continuance of public nuisance  
143. A District Magistrate or 1[ any other Executive Magistrate] empowered by the Government or the District Magistrate in this behalf, may order any person not to repeat or continue a public nuisance, as defined in the Penal Code or any special 2[ * * *] law.
 
 
 
1 The words “any other Executive Magistrate” were substituted for the words and comma “Sub-divisional Magistrate, or any other Magistrate” by section 52 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act, 2009 (Act No. XXXII of 2009) (with effect from 1st November, 2007).

2 The words `or local` were omitted by section 3 and 2nd Schedule of the Bangladesh Laws (Revision And Declaration) Act, 1973 (Act No. VIII of 1973)
